Are you looking for a new challenge? Wye Valley NHS Trust are seeking enthusiastic, dynamic Radiographers to join our leadership team in CT, this post will include rotation between our new Community Diagnostic Centre  and Hereford County Hospital and will help further develop out CT service across Herefordshire. This is a new post and will work closely with the CT Operational Lead Radiographer.

The Community Diagnostic Centre will incorporate Imaging (Plain X-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI), a range of cardiorespiratory investigations including echocardiography, ECG and rhythm monitoring, blood pressure monitoring, spirometry, FeNO, lung function tests, simple field tests, sleep investigations, oximetry, blood gas analysis and pathology services in a "one stop" location to obtain diagnostic information in cancer, cardiac, respiratory, musculo-skeletal and other conditions.  For more information about the CDC visit: Community Diagnostic Centre

Our CT department has undergone redesign and we have 3 Canon Aquillion Prime SP scanners and an additional scanner in our new CDC . We are looking for highly motivated, skilled and experienced, state registered Radiographers to join our team.  We can offer flexible shift patterns to support our 7 day working.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will be expected to have B.Sc Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualifications and experience of leadership.  We are looking for staff to support the 7 day working in CT and will offer flexible approach to working. We are a progressive department and support training, we currently perform a wide variety of specialised imaging including Colon, interventional and Perfusion CT.

The post holder will be expected to produce imaging to the highest standards and offer training and support for diagnostic radiography students from BCU and University of Gloucester and University of Exeter.

They will be required to organise workload in order to provide the best possible patient care and to lead and develop the team of radiographers. They will also be expected to demonstrate and evaluate new ways of working and techniques to facilitate service improvements.

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • B. Sc. Diagnostic Radiographer or equivalent
  • Cannulation certificate
  • HCPC registration
Desirable criteria
  • CT Post Graduate Certificate
  • Certificate in CT Colonography

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Extensive Proven experience in CT
  • Wide range of CT skills including CT Colonography/Cardiac CT
  • Experience of training staff
  • Experience of working as team leader/modality lead
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of service improvement programmes

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Experience of first line management
  • Good understanding of legislation and government targets
  • Ability to produce high quality work and problem solve
  • Ability to concentrate while performing complex scanning procedures, whilst being unpredictably interrupted by other staff
