Job overview

The post holder will lead a team of Clinical Nurse Specialists working to support the respiratory service at Wye Valley NHS Trust. The post holder will be responsible and accountable for the provision, management and continued development of a specialist nursing service for patients with a variety of respiratory conditions.

There will be extensive line management responsibilities for the CNSs working throughout the respiratory pathway. Nursing practice will be delivered at an advanced level and will include complex assessment of patients, counselling skills and advanced knowledge of the treatment of COPD, asthma, lung cancer, bronchiectasis, ILD, ventilation, immunotherapy for patients who have bee, wasp and pollen allergies – (including up-titration of their programmes) and other more general respiratory conditions. The post holder will lead, oversee and provide an expert advisory role for the countywide Home Oxygen Assessment and Review Service. 

Main duties of the job

We are seeking applications from experienced respiratory nurses able to demonstrate and evidence proven leadership skills and service development. We are a rapidly expanding CNS team with lots of opportunity for you to make a difference to patients by ensuring the services provided are of the highest quality and evidenced based, to ultimately provide a quality of care we would want for ourselves, our families and friends.
