Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Gynaecology. We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated and compassionate nurse who has an interest and passion for gynaecology nursing. This rewarding role will offer you the chance to care for women who have a wide range of gynaecological conditions from  benign disorders and those on oncology pathways to women in colposcopy and hysteroscopy clinics and within the early pregnancy clinics. 

 

 

Main duties of the job

 The post holder will provide specialist advice and support to other healthcare professionals 
within the Trust and within primary care.  
 The post holder will develop the service, continuously evaluate the service and provide 
written reports.  
 The post holder will work alongside other clinical colleagues within gynaecology to support 
facilitation of high quality care  
 The post holder will provide expert gynaecology advice and will support the Outpatients 
and ward area, other health care professionals and clinical teams within the Trust when 
necessary.   
 The post holder will develop clinical guidelines and relevant protocols  
 The post holder will coordinate clinical management of patients  
 The post holder will share our Trust values, be an advocate for our patients and values and 
behave in a way that reflects these.

Essential criteria
  • Level 1 Registered Nurse / Allied Health Professional
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Knowledge of clinical supervision

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Well-developed patient assessment skills
  • Good problem solving abilities
  • Understanding of national guidelines and health legislation (e.g. NICE Guidelines, NSFs, NHS Plan,)
  • Ability to lead developments in practice
  • Good understanding of clinical governance

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years post-registration experience
