Job overview

Are you a motivated and enthusiastic Podiatrist looking for a varied and rewarding role in a supportive community team? Come and join us in beautiful Herefordshire, where you can develop your clinical skills, broaden your experience and enjoy an excellent work–life balance in a county renowned for its beautiful countryside, rural communities and green spaces.

Our Community Podiatry Service is a small, committed team providing care across Herefordshire. With our main clinical base in Hereford city, we deliver services from acute hospital, community clinics, community hospitals and patients homes (where appropriate) throughout the county, offering a varied role in a range of clinical settings.

We are looking for a flexible, highly motivated Podiatrist who is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and keen to develop their clinical knowledge and skills. You will have the opportunity to gain experience across a range of specialist services, including nail surgery and diabetic foot clinics.

Working  with colleagues across community and acute services supporting integrated care.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop professionally while making a meaningful difference to the foot health, mobility and independence of our local population.

Main duties of the job

Provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment, including patient education, for conditions of the foot and related structures to improve mobility, reduce pain and maintain tissue viability

Provide a Podiatry service for patients with complex pathologies of the foot with a range of often coexisting medical, long term conditions including Diabetes.

To fully assess, differentially diagnose and clinically manage patients, devising, implementing and delivering care packages and taking responsibility for individual patient discharge.

Working for our organisation

Wye Valley NHS Trust is a member of an NHS Foundation Group with South Warwickshire NHS FT , the George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust and Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

Located on the border with Wales in the shadow of the Black Mountains, we provide acute and community services across Herefordshire and into parts of Powys and run Hereford County Hospital and the community hospitals in Bromyard, Leominster and Ross-on-Wye.

We are a progressive and forward looking trust with ambitious plans to improve quality and integrate patient pathways through close collaborative working with our partners to deliver the quality of care we’d want for our family and friends.

More than 3,500 people work for the Trust – they tell us it’s a great place to work, blending the busyness of a DGH with the benefits of working in a beautiful rural and unspoilt county like Herefordshire.

We can offer a great work-life balance and have a fine tradition of working with staff to help them achieve their full potential.

Our values - Care, Accountability, Respect and Excellence - are at the heart of all we do. We believe in providing the right care in the right place at the right time…all the time.
