Job overview

We are looking for a Band 4  Support Worker to join Adult Community Mental Health Team based in Civic House, Borehamwood.
 
You will provide intensive support to service users within South-West, Hertfordshire.
 
You will need experience of working with people who have mental health issues in the community.
 
Please be aware that HPFT no longer offer sponsorship for support worker roles, you must have the right to work in the UK.
 
 

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will: 

  • work as part of a multidisciplinary team which provides mental health services to adults
  • work alongside a qualified duty worker to support the team’s duty function
  • support in the assessment and provision of social care
  • work closely in association with the Team Leader and other senior staff
  • work within the Care Programme Approach / Care Management process with a focus on Recovery Principles
  • provide support, give time, and promote recovery to service users in the broader
  • provide support to the care co-ordinator, in the implementation of a recovery focused care plan for an allocated number of individual service users.
  • ensure that service users engage beneficially with the agreed Care Plan and access appropriate services provided on a regular and consistent

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To support the duty function of the team. Duty works from 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will work alongside a qualified member of staff from social work / OT / nursing. 

You will spend their day in contact with service users receiving treatment from the team. This could be via phone contact, by seeing people in our Borehamwood clinic, or seeing people in their own home.

Essential criteria
  • NVQ level 3 qualification or mental health certificate level 3 or agreement to undertake such training as soon as resources permit
  • NVQ/Mental Health Certificate Level 2
  • Commitment to Continuing Personal Development
Desirable criteria
  • Venepuncture training

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Solid experience of providing mental health services from within a team setting, which may be combined with personal lived experience of mental health difficulties
