Job overview

Whilst we welcome all applications from all suitable candidates, unfortunately, we will not be offering sponsorship for this role.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation Team as a Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician Apprentice (Band 3) on a two-year fixed-term apprenticeship programme.

This is an excellent opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining valuable workplace experience whilst studying towards an approved Pharmacy Technician qualification. Working alongside pharmacists and experienced pharmacy technicians, you will support the safe supply and management of medicines across our mental health and learning disability services.

Applicants must have GCSE English, Mathematics and Science at Grade 4/C or above, plus three additional GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).

We are looking for individuals who are organised, reliable, keen to learn and committed to delivering high-quality care. Strong communication, teamwork and attention to detail are essential.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will undertake a structured two-year Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship whilst working as part of the Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation Team. Under the supervision of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, you will support the safe supply and management of medicines, assist with dispensing and stock control activities, develop medicines optimisation skills and maintain accurate pharmacy records. You will rotate through different areas of the pharmacy service, complete workplace competency assessments and academic learning, and contribute to audits and service improvement initiatives. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience and develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to become a registered Pharmacy Technician
