Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)

Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria

Registered health care professional that is regulated by a professional body (such as NMC, HCPC, GMC)
Evidence of self-managed continued professional development
Evidence of post registration training such as Masters level qualifications relevant to safeguarding or equivalent experience and the willingness to complete further training to support this role
Teaching or mentorship qualification
Supervisory qualification or equivalent/ willingness to complete

Experience and Knowledge

Essential criteria

Previous experience working with families, children and young people
Clinical experience of safeguarding children.
Experience of delivering Joint Agency Response in a professional capacity
Effective contribution to local multi-agency groups, systems and networks.

Skills and Abilities

Essential criteria

Ability to respond positively to change
Excellent communication and listening skills with some understanding of basic counselling skills
The ability to transfer the principles of clinical effectiveness into clinical practice
Ability to analyse issues and think critically

As a Senior Assessor, you have the opportunity to focus on delivering direct care. Furthermore, if you have the relevant experience and skills, you can take on an additional responsibility. We limit this to one responsibility to allow for focused time on that topic, rather than having your time stretched too thinly. When taking on an additional responsibility, your case volume is reduced, making time available for this focused time.

For Senior Assessors, additional responsibility options include supporting more complex cases, ensuring quality assurance, providing training, facilitating family engagement, and contributing to pathway development.
