Job overview

We are recruiting for a Pharmacy Support Worker who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

Duties include dispensing and labelling prescriptions for patients, working in the dispensary serving patients and staff on pharmacy reception and general dispensary administration.

Applicants must be keen to learn, hardworking and able to work under pressure. Applicants must have at least a Grade C or grade 4 GCSE in English, Maths and a Science

A flexible approach to the above duties is required, together with good communication and interpersonal skills, initiative and the ability to work as part of a team.

The successful candidate will have to undertake NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services.

Main duties of the job

To book in prescriptions and monitor the flow of work

To monitor room temperature in the dispensary, CD room and trial room.

To put checked, dispensed items in the delivery boxes.

To assist with expiry date monitoring in the dispensary.

To sort returned drugs, separating items to be credited and those to be discarded, according to procedure.

To be trained to label and dispense medicinal products in accordance with procedure.
