Qualifications/Training

Essential criteria

RSCN/RN Child with current NMC registration
Teaching and Assessing qualification
Evidence of ongoing dynamic professional development and application to practice
EPLS, APLS or equivalent

Previous Experience

Essential criteria

Post-registration experience in general Paediatrics
Experience and evidence of effectiveness in co-ordinating and managing patient care
Ability to prioritise, organise work load and delegate and supervise tasks appropriately
Ability to analyse, resolve issues and make sound judgements on clinical issues, using initiative, whilst demonstrating an awareness of own limits

Desirable criteria

Evidence of implementing and managing change
Evidence of previous experience and efficacy in mentorship, teaching and assessing

As a Senior Assessor, you have the opportunity to focus on delivering direct care. Furthermore, if you have the relevant experience and skills, you can take on an additional responsibility. We limit this to one responsibility to allow for focused time on that topic, rather than having your time stretched too thinly. When taking on an additional responsibility, your case volume is reduced, making time available for this focused time.

For Senior Assessors, additional responsibility options include supporting more complex cases, ensuring quality assurance, providing training, facilitating family engagement, and contributing to pathway development.
