Job overview

We are recruiting for an Pancreatobiliary Specialist Support Nurse who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will support the Clinical Nurse Specialist  in developing and managing the relevant cancer nursing service, providing specialist advice and support patients, their families and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

You will work as part of the current cancer and palliative care services within the Trust.

The post holder will undertake a multidisciplinary approach, incorporating personalised care, towards meeting the varying needs of patients and their carers throughout their treatments and disease process.

Additionally, you will assist in the education and training of other health care professionals.

Qualifications / Training

Essential criteria
  • Registered nurse
  • Relevant experience in Upper GI or oncology
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Teaching or mentoring qualification
  • Post registration qualification in specialty or willingness to complete
Desirable criteria
  • Degree
  • Research module

Previous Experience

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrable expert nursing skills
  • Evidence of mentorship/preceptorship roles
  • Able to accept personal accountability for own practice
  • Experience of formal/informal teaching
  • Understanding of evidence-based practice
  • Understanding and knowledge of specialist field
