Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced speech and language therapist to join our team of 7 speech therapists, this is a part time position of 19.5 hours per week.

The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the Therapy Team Lead and clinical leadership of the Acute adult SLT team based at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospital NHS Trust which incorporates both the SLT inpatient acute team, covering the acute medical wards, including ITU, and the SLT stroke team.

Main duties of the job

You should have extensive post graduate experience in the field of adults with acquired neurological disorders and have advanced skills in instrumental dysphagia assessments including VFS/FEES, critical care and in tracheostomy management. Additionally, you should have significant supervision experience as well as experience of leading an SLT team.

You will be expected to play a key role in reviewing service requirements and to participate in policy, planning, clinical governance and service innovation. You will also lead the Inpatient VFS service at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospital NHS
