Main duties of the job

•            Deliver specialist neurorehabilitation through advanced assessment, clinical reasoning, and evidencebased intervention for adults with a wide range of neurological conditions.

•            Lead complex case management, coordinating personalised rehab plans that support people to maximise independence in their homes and communities.

•            Provide clinical leadership within the multidisciplinary team, offering expert guidance, joint working, and specialist input into complex decisionmaking.

•            Supervise and support junior staff, students, and therapy assistants, helping to build skills, confidence, and highquality practice across the service.

•            Drive service development, contributing to quality improvement projects, pathway redesign, and innovation in community neurorehab delivery.

•            Build strong partnerships with patients, families, carers, and external agencies to ensure seamless, personcentred care.

•            Maintain high professional standards, including accurate documentation, outcome measurement, and ongoing CPD to keep practice at the cutting edge of neurorehabilitation.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities:

To provide Occupational Therapy assessment to neurological patients with diverse physical and cognitive presentations, and deliver an individualised treatment programme, in clinic, patients homes and community settings

To undertake a clinical caseload to a high professional standard, using knowledge and skills from theoretical and practical experience.

To operate as a professional member of the team maintaining the highest standards to represent and promote HCT.

To act as a resource and provide advice for other members of the MDT.

To maintain occupational therapy records and ensure others do the same.

In addition to the basic salary, this post attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary.

Person specification

Essential and desirable

Essential criteria
  • • Occupational Therapy Degree.
  • • Registration with Health and Care Professions council (HCPC).
  • • Assessment of patients, contributing to a diagnosis and formulating a treatment plan, from a range of modalities
  • • Post registration experience.
  • • Evidence of Continued Professional Development and reflective practice
  • • Understanding and application of the OT process with evidence of advanced clinical reasoning
  • • Eligible to live and work in the UK.
  • • Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)
Desirable criteria
  • • Relevant post-registration training, E.G. splinting, Bobath, FND
  • • Registration within profession specific special interest group E.G Specialist Section Neurological Practice
