Job overview
The role of the Data Analyst will be to perform analyses of data from multiple sources to measure and provide insight into HUC operations and performance. Having reporting ownership of a specific HUC service line, they will ensure that contractual reports are completed on time. They will be part of a wider BI team working together to develop meaningful data that is understood by our internal teams, commissioners and NHS organisations.
Main duties of the job
- Extract statistical information from key systems to assist with reporting on Local and National Performance and Quality Requirements for our Integrated Urgent Care and Primary Care Services
- Undertake detailed data analyses of various service elements to understand and track performance trends
- Highlight and investigate data anomalies and assist the BI team in resolving discrepancies
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand data content and service requirements
- Use analytics to support operational service delivery, and provide evidence for business and strategic decision making
- Utilise BI tools such as Power BI to present complex technical work to a non-technical audience in a clear and concise matter
- Create and maintain accurate documentation, such as how-to guides and mapping schemas for end users
- Prepare reports for Senior Management and Board
- Undertake daily, weekly and monthly reports as required
- Attend contract meetings with partners and Commissioners as required, to talk through processes and data and answer questions
- Deepen HUC's culture of data-driven decision making

The Business Intelligence team is responsible for data relating to activity and performance, rotaing and productivity, and much more, for all HUC contracts. We work closely with clinical and operational teams and play a key role in turning complex data into clear insights that improve patient care, service efficiency and decision-making.

- Extremely strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a logical approach
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical work to a non-technical audience
- Experience working with large datasets, integrating datasets from multiple sources for a unified purpose
- Ability to extract sensitive information from databases/datasets to help understand a process or solve a problem and make informed recommendations based on detailed data insight
- Ability to communicate sensitive information to senior and Executive managers, and use tact and diplomacy to influence decision making
- Ability to scope, develop and tailor decision support tools to meet user's specification and requirements
- Excellent numerical and statistical skills
