At HUC, we provide Dental services, NHS 111 and Out of Hours GP services to 4.5 million people across Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, West Essex, and the Southwest — including Somerset.

We’re looking for people with transferrable skills to help patients get the care they need, exactly when they need it.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answering inbound dental calls promptly, accurately, & professionally.

  • Providing high-quality advice & guidance in line with training & performance standards.

  • Supporting the Team Manager to maintain efficiency & achieve key performance targets.

  • Taking part in regular call audits to ensure service quality

Our service runs 8am–10pm, 7 days a week, with rota patterns agreed within these hours.

· Good IT Skills

· Experience of working under pressure in a busy environment

· Attention to detail and accurate data entry

· Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to be empathetic and a good listener

· The skill to manage sensitive and emotional calls from a range of sources

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Do you have good IT Skills?
  • Do you have good communication skills?
  • Do you have experience of working in a patient/public environment in an administrative role?
  • NVQ in Customer Service Levels 1 or 2 (or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Adastra software Package
  • Local Geographical Knowledge
  • Experience of a healthcare setting
  • Experience of working in a call centre environment

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good general education, to a minimum of GCSE level (or equivalent) with Grade C or above in English and Maths.
  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft IT packages and/or bespoke software
  • Excellent telephone manner

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge and understanding of communication issues of patients and their needs.
