Cancer Support Worker / Administrator

We are recruiting for a Cancer Support Worker / Administrator  who wishes to join #TeamIOWNHS. You should share our passion and drive to ensure that our patients receive quality and compassionate care and work with us to ensure the Trust continues its journey towards “great people, great place”.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 Administrator/Care Support Worker to provide administration support to the Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist Team. This includes recording of cancer nurse specialist activity, monitoring telephones and assisting with development of Risk Stratified Pathways, Health Promotion and follow-up services on the Isle of Wight incorporating the national cancer recovery package.

This post will work in collaboration and support of the Cancer Teams to help develop and deliver services across organisational, professional and geographical boundaries. This role will work closely with key areas of the Trust, forging close working relationships with the visiting consultants from the Cancer Centres, the medical and cancer teams, and the Specialist Palliative Care team.

It is essential that you possess a high level of up-to-date relevant knowledge, secretarial and administration skills and practical clinical experience in dealing with patients who have cancer, oncology or specialist palliative care needs. You must be highly motivated with excellent communication skills. 

Working with the Cancer Nurse Specialist Team this post will assist the implementation and assessment of the service against the NHSi Quality Measures.
