Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join the Ambulance Operational Resourcing and Admin Team, working closely with the other Resourcing Administrators and Operational Service Managers, this busy and dynamic role would be suitable for someone with a keen eye for detail who is able to prioritise effectively and remain calm at all times.  

We are looking for someone to work 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday during normal office hours. Working as part of a small team you will be primarily responsible for maintaining the rosters for the Ambulance Emergency Service, ensuring vacant shifts are covered and keeping the Optima system updated with any changes.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for central administration within the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and supporting the Ambulance Managers through effective delivery of admin and rostering systems

Key elements of the role are;

  • In conjunction with the Ambulance Managers , maintain effective administration systems within the Ambulance Service.
  • Assist to the financial wellbeing and sustainability of the Ambulance Business Unit through effective allocation of resources
  • Ensuring the accuracy of rostering systems for the recording of sickness, annual leave and training for all departments covered by the Resourcing Administrators.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Join our dedicated Ambulance Service team and play a key role in supporting frontline operations. As a Resourcing Administrator, you will provide central administrative support, working closely with Operational Station Managers and the Clinical Operations Manager to ensure the effective delivery of administrative and rostering systems.

Key responsibilities include maintaining efficient administration processes, supporting resource allocation to promote financial sustainability, and ensuring the accuracy of MAPS systems for recording sickness, annual leave and training records. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, detail-focused individual with strong administrative and IT skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and contributing to high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Qualification to NVQ level 3 in Business Administration or other relevant subject or equivalent knowledge gained through a combination of experience and short courses.
  • 4 GCSEs at grade A-C to include Maths and English
  • RSA 3 qualified

Experience

  • Knowledge of Ambulance Services administrative and business processes
  • Advanced use of IT packages or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of the HealthRoster staff roster system
