Senior CT Rotational Radiographer

Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, ambitious and motivated Rotational Senior CT Radiographer (Band 6) for Core Services in Plain X-ray, and CT. This Position will be based at William Harvey Hospital in Ashford with rotation to Buckland Hospital in Dover.

Main duties of the job

  1. To carry out radiographic examinations across a range of modalities to the agreed standard of the department.
  2. Complete high-quality examinations consistent with ALARA principles.
  3. To maintain a high standard of patient care and comfort and be patient focused at all times.
  4. To work in an efficient and effective manner at all times.
  5. To plan, prioritise and organise own workload.
  6. To undertake intravenous cannulation and administration of medicines in line with departmental policy.
  7. To report any untoward incidents and equipment failure to the relevant modality lead radiographer and where appropriate medical physics expert.
  8. To work unsupervised as and when required.
  9. To supervise junior members of staff to help expand their knowledge and skills.
  10. To exhibit role model behaviour and deputise for more senior radiographers as and when required, providing continuity of service

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will be expected to be flexible in their approach; working as part of the senior radiographer team liaising with Radiologists and clinicians in charge of a patient. They will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team liaising with , staff at other radiology sites and other departmental staff. They will also liaise with internal and external agencies.

This post requires good analytical, organisational, communication and computer skills. The key working relationships will be with other radiographers, superintendent radiographers on all radiology sites, radiology clerical and admin staff, clinical scientists, consultant radiologists and clinical referrers.
