Person specification

Skills and Experience.

Essential criteria

Completed at least 4 years postgraduate clinical experience including a minimum of 2 years Anaesthetic training.
Understands systems within the NHS, nationally, regionally and locally
Obstetric anaesthetic experience (emergency rota) having completed obstetric competencies (IAOC)

Desirable criteria

Have completed APLS/EPLS provider course

Possession of primary or final specialty qualification (Primary FRCA)

Clinical Governance

Participates in regular clinical governance activity with evidence of annual audit project or quality improvement activity

As a Senior Assessor, you have the opportunity to focus on delivering direct care. Furthermore, if you have the relevant experience and skills, you can take on an additional responsibility. We limit this to one responsibility to allow for focused time on that topic, rather than having your time stretched too thinly. When taking on an additional responsibility, your case volume is reduced, making time available for this focused time.

For Senior Assessors, additional responsibility options include supporting more complex cases, ensuring quality assurance, providing training, facilitating family engagement, and contributing to pathway development.
