Job overview

To assist the Stores and Distribution Service Lead, in running and maintaining an efficient and effective pharmaceutical receipting, storage and distribution hub, for all EKHUFT sites and outside units across Kent. Whilst helping to ensure MHRA Good distribution practice and Home office license requirements are maintained at all times via a Quality Management system.

Main duties of the job

This specific post involves the management of the Senior assistant based in Distribution at Kent and Canterbury hospital and oversees the management of the TWS Pharmacy storekeepers across all 3 acute sites. Approximately 30,000 stock items are issued per week to wards, departments, health centres and other units across Kent.

Qualifications and training

Essential criteria
  • NVQ / A Levels
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of knowledge of Good Distribution Practice
  • Evidence of knowledge of wholesale dealer licence requirements
  • Evidence of knowledge of Home Office License requirements
  • Knowledge of POSD and JAC dispensing computer process
  • Basic knowledge of Pharmacy
