Clinical Engineering Assistant (Store Person/Driver)

Job overview
The post holder will be based at our warehouse Newtons Court and will be responsible for performing an array of duties not limited to but including receiving and storing incoming stock and equipment and recording all data on a database.
They will be required to deliver and collect Trust Assets / Equipment to and from the wards and departments where Dartford & Gravesham NHS Trust undertakes activities. Travelling to and from these sites on a daily basis.
This position will not be supported for visa sponsorship. All applicants are expected to have valid right to work document to work in the UK when applying for this position.

Main duties of the job
Alongside this, under supervision they will assist the Clinical Engineering team servicing and repair of mechanical equipment.
The post holder may be required to provide cover for Medical Equipment Library (MEL) during short-term absences (e.g. annual leave, sickness). This will be limited to essential duties necessary to maintain service continuity and will not involve the full responsibilities or accountability of the higher band role. No additional remuneration will apply unless duties meet the criteria for acting-up pay in line with organisational policy.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Key responsibilities:
Record goods inwards / outwards using Trust bespoke software.
Ensure checks to verify stock levels for re-ordering are accurate and appropriate.
Take delivery of goods delivered into stores.
Ensure that goods are checked off in an accurate and timely manner and checked for damages and quantity and photographic record kept.
Update computer system to enable accurate stock levels.
Put materials away in Warehouse.
Take direction on the CAFM system PPM Scheduler forecast and prepare for collection assets / equipment / materials out ready for service and repair.
Assist/Carry out stock checks when required.
Keep stores clean and tidy.
Deliver and collect materials & equipment to / from trust sites.

Person specification
Education and Training
Essential criteria
- Full clean Driving license – to include capability to drive LWB and Luton type vans of 3.5 tonne
- Pallet Stacker Licence
Desirable criteria
- Use of CAFM software (Computer-Aided Facility Management) and PDA’S
- Aware of MHRA DB2015 (Version V1.1) “Managing Medical Devices
- Will undertake pallet stacker training
Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
- PUWER: The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998
- Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
- Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER)
- Vehicle routine inspection
- Computer literate to Microsoft and other NHS packages
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good communication skills
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of Waste recycling
- Basic IT skills
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in similar environment / role, involving work in stores, driving and yard responsibilities.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in NHS or other government organisation
