We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Registered Children’s Nurses to complement our Paediatric team in. A vacancy has arisen for a Band 7 Practice Development Nurse to join our current team on Willow, PAU and Paediatric Outpatients in order to provide senior nursing leadership and clinical Practice Development expertise.
Willow ward is a 22 bedded general paediatric ward caring for children aged 0-16 years with a variety of medical, surgical and orthopaedic conditions. PAU is an assessment/day care area with 6 spaces for children and has just moved to its own purpose built area alongside Paediatric ED. Willow is open 24hrs a day; PAU is currently open 0900-2200hrs. Paediatric Outpatients is located in our children’s Resource Centre and also has a base at Queen Mary’s hospital, supporting both general paediatric and specialist clinics.
We are seeking a senior Practice Development Nurse to support nursing practice in the clinical environment, your input will be crucial to our ongoing care and surge planning. You will be supported in this role by Senior Sisters, Matron and Band 6 Practice Development Nurses, and work closely with the Consultant of the week, to ensure your nursing leadership provides a high standard of nursing care, patient safety and experience through your Practice Development expertise.
In order to undertake this role we are looking for substantial post registered experience. The successful applicant will need to have:
A commitment to caring for sick children and leading the nursing team in advancing paediatric practice
First level registration with the NMC as a Children’s Nurse
Experience in an acute paediatric clinical setting
A specific area of interest in an acute paediatric nursing setting which relates to Practice Development or Education.
A commitment to continuing to develop your own and others professional development
