Do you have the following qualifications and skills?
• Have 2+ GCSE’s A-C (or equivalent) & at least 1 I.T qualification within the last 10 yrs. (If not, you can still apply for the post but will be expected to undertake NVQ qualifications)
• Proven experience in a busy patient/public focused environment
• Excellent skills in using Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
• Good organisational and time management skills is imperative as we can be extremely busy.
• The ability to work on your own initiative.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for friendly and organised Receptionist to join our team at Deal Hospital.
You will be the first point of call for patients visiting our urgent treatment centre, booking patients into all the computer systems supporting senior team with admin tasks and informing staff of any concerns about patients waiting.
Please note there will be times you will have to work at Royal Victoria Hospital, Folkestone. Our services are open from 08:00 to 20:00 seven days a week every day of the year, including Christmas/New Year. All staff

Essential criteria
- 5 GCSEs grades A* - C, NVQ level 2, BTEC first diploma and certificate, O Level grade A, B or C or equivalent or Level 2 qualification At least 1 I.T qualification
Desirable criteria
- Literacy & Numerousy Test & IT skills test at interview, then this will be sufficient
Experience
Essential criteria
- Excellent keyboard skills Excellent computing skills to include Microsoft Office email and internet use
Desirable criteria
- Working knowledge of a patient information system Working within a Clinical Environment
Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria
- Good inter-personal skills and the ability to communicate and work with people from different backgrounds at all levels of seniority
- Ability to deal compassionately with distressed and upset members of the public
