An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-starting and enthusiastic analyst to join our innovative and fast paced business intelligence team.

We are looking to appoint a pro-active and dynamic individual with the confidence to engage with others across all levels of the organisation and wider health economy.

Working as part of the team, you will be required to collate, validate, analyse and present patient information to support all business areas of organisation.

Main duties of the job

To support the organisation with analysis and reporting on a wide range of topics and service areas, and to contribute to improving quality in respect of patient activity data that is captured by community services.

To use SQL and other Microsoft tools, to extract data from source systems to produce analytic reports, visualisations and outline findings on a range of topics.

The post-holder will provide high quality, timely and accurate information to enable Medway Community Healthcare to provide effective patient services.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will:

  • Build and maintain robust reporting solutions using SQL, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Work with managers, clinicians, and commissioners to ensure information is relevant, timely, and supports effective decision-making.
  • Monitor and improve data quality across services, escalating persistent issues as needed.
  • Coordinate responses to data and information requests, including Freedom of Information submissions.
  • Contribute to the standardisation of data processes and support service leads in training and guidance on data tools and reporting.
  • Support organisational improvement by identifying trends, highlighting performance issues, and suggesting data-led solutions.

Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level or relevant experience
Desirable criteria
  • Previous role as an analyst

Technical Expertise

Essential criteria
  • Excellent IT skills with intermediate level knowledge of excel and Power BI
  • Knowledge of SQL and coding
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of SQL coding at intermediate level
  • Experience using SSRS/SSMS

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of NHS data sources and information
  • Knowledge of NHS data protection and information governance

  • Experience working in the public sector, particularly healthcare
  • Clear understanding of NHS data sources and information flows
