Job overview

We are seeking a Ward Clerk to join our friendly nursing team in an exciting and hard-working administrative role.

The Trevor Gibbens Unit is a secure hospital that specialises in the assessment and treatment of people with complex mental health conditions. Our patients, both male and female, from the age of 18.
The hospital comprises of 5 wards to support patients in their recovery.
Main duties of the job
- Scanning and uploading documents
- Maintaining filing systems in line with organisations policies and procedures
- Answering telephone calls and emails whilst following protocol and guideline
- Being based on the wards and have the ability to move across all 5 wards to offer support.
- Maintaining the staff photograph boards
- Updating the supervision trees for the wards
- Assisting our nursing team with daily staffing levels and putting shifts out to NHSP
- Keeping staff informed of their training compliance and escalating when necessary
- To assist with the updating of all noticeboards and staff information folders
- To maintain strict confidentiality at all times
- Minuting ward meetings and community ward meetings
- Working with the wards towards CQC and NHSE requirements when necessary
- Admin support for the Ward Manager and nursing team.

Training Qualifications and Registration
Essential criteria
- GCSE Mathematics 4
- GCSE English 4 or above
Desirable criteria
- A level Mathematics C or above

Experience

- Previous experience of working in NHS and/or working with people with severe mental health problems
