Outpatient Physiotherapist

Band 6

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital trust, providing hospital services to around 500,000 people living in the south of west Kent and parts of north east Sussex. The trust employs around 4000 staff in full time equivalent roles. We recognise that our talented staff are our most valuable asset, and we appreciate the importance of training and development to ensure that all employees can realise their full potential.

Based in leafy Kent, the Trust operates from two primary sites; Tunbridge Wells Hospital which is a level 2 Trauma centre and Maidstone Hospital, home to the Kent Oncology Centre, one of the leading cancer treatment centres in the southeast.

We are recruiting to an outpatient Physiotherapy post at one of our outpatient sites at TWH or Maidstone Hospitals. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated physiotherapist to join our outpatient service. You should have been qualified for 2 years or longer and have NHS experience at Band 6 level or equivalent. The post offers an opportunity to gain experience treating a wide variety of patients including a large orthopaedic caseload. This post will also support our Virtual Fracture Clinic. The full time hours will be worked over 4 days. We are also working to providing a Saturday service.

You will be supported by experienced senior staff and will have the opportunity to develop both clinically and managerially, leading a team and or working with junior staff and students, depending on your level of experience.

The department offers a friendly and supportive working environment which actively supports Continuing Professional Development, through an established appraisal system, in-service training and post-graduate library facilities.

You will be required to travel between the sites at times.

Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at enhanced level. (Enhanced level now includes regulated checks against vulnerable adults and children)

Closing Date: Friday 25th May 2018

Interviews: Wednesday 6th June 2018

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
