Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner - Band 6
Salary is dependant on experience
£40,701 - £48,054 Inc HCAS per annum pro rata
Fixed term: 9 months - Full time 37.5 hours per week
We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join our close-knit team in Bromley. This role is based in the Talk Together Bromley IAPT Service and aims to deliver an IAPT service to the Post Covid Community Pathway within Bromley and represents an opportunity for an experienced Graduate Mental Health Workers or PWP, who is committed to this model, to move to develop their career within low-intensity treatments.
There is potential for this contract to be extended dependent on funding/commissioning.

The post-holder will
- Hold a qualification (Post grad dip/cert) in Low intensity working or Primary Care Mental Health work,
- Have the ability to offer evidence-based practice in facilitated self-help and group work
- Develop, support and train innovative practice to Trainee & Qualified PWP’s and to Primary Care colleagues, such as health visitors and to colleagues in statutory and non-statutory organisations.
In addition, there is a significant case management and clinical supervision component to the post and this is an opportunity for a qualified and experienced PWP who is enthusiastic and excited by the development of low intensity services to share their interest and passion, and to develop these qualities and skills in others.
The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and may be called upon to work in various settings (including primary care surgeries and 3rd sector settings).
The post holder will work within the Post Covid Community Pathway within Bromley which forms part of the wider borough wide provision for people with Post Covid Syndrome.

- Provide assessment and low intensity interventions eg psycho-educational interventions, Guided Self Help in a workshop setting both 1:1 and in group settings, face to face and virtually and cCBT to patients registered with GP practices/health centres in the Borough of Bromley, drawing from CBT theories and techniques.
- Provide a service that is comprehensive and accessible to a broad range of patients who have common mental health problems and who are over 18 years of age with a diagnosis of Post Covid Syndrome.
- To provide a service that is equitable and non-discriminatory in terms of age, gender, ethnicity and disability.
- Support GPs and other primary care workers in making appropriate referrals and in carrying out the mental health aspects of their own roles.
- Make appropriate referrals to other service providers in the statutory and voluntary sectors and redirect patients to other sources of appropriate support within the local community as required.
- Develop a knowledge of the locality and its services and facilities, particularly in relation to mental health issues.
- Provide a service that is flexible, as far as possible, to meet the demands of the client.
- Liaise as appropriate with secondary care mental health services and social service departments.
- Conduct risk assessments, prepare risk management plans and initiate appropriate action where indicated (including requests for mental health act assessments and referrals to relevant secondary care services).
10. Attend Weekly Post Covid Multi-Disciplinary Meetings in order to discuss patients on the caseload and potential needs and referrals to ensure correct pathway management.

- A degree related to mental health e.g., psychology, and a PWP qualification, or equivalent.
- Training in risk assessment
- Registered practitioner with BPS or BABCP
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development

- Consolidated and reflective supervised post-qualifying experience in a community setting
- Experience of working with clients in a primary care setting.
- Experience of working with suicidal clients and of risk management
- Experience of working within the IAPT culture
