Podiatrist

NHS AfC: Band 6

Job overview

Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts and the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB). Nursing vacancies are also open to Student Nurses and Newly Qualified Nurses.

Are you a motivated podiatrist looking to develop your skills within a supportive, forward‑thinking service? Our Podiatry Service offers an exciting opportunity to work across a wide range of clinical environments while being part of a friendly, multidisciplinary team.

We provide community podiatry, podiatric surgery and orthotics manufacturing to commissioning groups and acute trusts across Kent. Our service includes four community podiatry teams, a specialist orthotics manufacturing facility and a dedicated podiatric day surgery unit — giving you exposure to a rich variety of clinical pathways and development opportunities.

You’ll deliver high‑quality foot health care in diverse settings including community clinics, hospital sites, patients’ homes, residential and nursing homes, prisons and KMPT locations across Kent and Medway. You’ll work Monday to Friday, with some sites offering extended hours to support flexible working and patient access.

Please note, this vacancy does not meet the criteria for skilled worker sponsorship.  Therefore, we are unable to accept applications from candidates that cannot provide documentary evidence of right to work in the United Kingdom.

Main duties of the job

We’re seeking a highly motivated, professional HCPC‑registered podiatrist with solid graduate clinical experience and a passion for delivering high‑quality podiatric care. This role involves working with patients who have pathological foot conditions or who are at risk of developing serious foot health complications, making your clinical expertise genuinely impactful.

You’ll use excellent diagnostic and assessment skills to provide a wide range of podiatry treatments, including biomechanical interventions and wound care, across a variety of community settings in Rochester. Accurate and effective documentation of all patient interventions is essential, ensuring continuity and safety across the service.

You’ll also play an active role in supporting podiatry assistants, students and administrative colleagues, offering guidance, advice and professional insight wherever needed. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within the podiatry team and wider department are key to succeeding in this role.

This is an excellent opportunity for a podiatrist who wants to build strong clinical foundations, grow clinically, work collaboratively with experienced colleagues, contribute to a supportive multidisciplinary service and make a meaningful difference to patient wellbeing.

If you’re enthusiastic, compassionate and ready to grow within a service that values innovation and professional development, we’d love to welcome you to our team.
