Job overview
The Radiology Department at Pembury Hospital, Tunbridge Wells, has a vacancy for a part time Nuclear Medicine Assistant to join their busy and friendly team.
Radiology provides a wide range of imaging investigations within various imaging modalities, including Nuclear Medicine, CT, X-Ray, MRI, Ultrasound and Interventional Procedures.
This role will involve clinical and administrative duties working within the Nuclear Medicine team, with some rotation to the main radiology department, if required, to provide high quality patient care.
The ideal applicant will have excellent communication skills, a pleasant manner, and full computer literacy with experience of databases. They should have a desire to expand beyond their current experiences with a willingness to meet new challenges.
Previous clinical experience in a healthcare setting is desirable but local in-house training will be provided.
The successful applicant will need to be flexible in their approach to work. The core operating hours of the department are 8am-8pm Monday-Friday. Contact with the department and informal discussion about the post requirements prior to application will be a shortlisting criterion for interview.

Main duties of the job
The main tasks of the post will be to support the radiographers, radiologists and technologists in caring for patients, register the patients on the Radiology computer system and assist the Radiographers with transfer of patients if no porters are available.
There will be clerical duties but training will be given for all aspects of the post.
Clinical tasks include chaperoning patients, manual handling, patient observations and assisting in minor procedures performed under imaging guidance. Competencies and training for this will be provided.
