General Manager - Trauma and Orthopaedics

We are seeking to recruit highly motivated and experienced General Manager to join our team in leading the Trauma & Orthopaedics Directorate within our Planned Care Division.
This post offers the opportunity to work in a challenging but rewarding environment as part of a dynamic team.

You will play a key role in both the operational delivery and development of services. Your challenge will be ensuring patients receive high quality care, at the right time, and in the right environment with the resources available. You will be responsible for the effective strategic and operational management of the directorate. You will lead the work required to ensure that clear, systematic processes are in place across the Directorate to support the efficient and effective delivery of key business and service objectives.

As a highly experienced manager you will bring to the role an in depth knowledge of general management, financial management, business planning, and the associated performance management as well as being very aware of clinical strategies and the NHS and NHS patient experience agenda. As an experienced operational manager, you have a track record of delivering against targets, managing change to improve services, and leading and developing high performing teams. We’ll expect you to be innovative and an analytical thinker, with high level communication and influencing skills.

You will need to work closely and cohesively with a range of stakeholders (both internal and external) to develop new services and initiatives, as well as providing leadership and direction. Your ability to influence and work with others will be essential, as will be your skills in delivering on operational performance targets.
