Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 5 Physiotherapist to join our Community Cardiac Rehabilitation Team. This is a developmental post into a Band 6 role following the completion of necessary skills and competencies required for the role. Aiming to be completed within 12-18months. Applicants do not need to have experience as training will be provided!

The Cardiac Rehab Teams consist of Specialist Nurses, Physiotherapists, Exercise Specialists and Counsellors.  You will cover a variety of locations of East Kent. Cardiac Rehabilitation in Kent will give you the opportunity to work in an exciting, forward thinking team, in a variety of locations, from well-equipped local gyms, to clinics and patients’ homes. The team profile is evolving and growing, working seamlessly with other agencies to provide the cardiac rehabilitation pathway, ensuring effective patient education with the engagement of other health and well-being services.

The cardiac Specialist physiotherapists are integral to the provision of cardiac rehabilitation, empowering patients to self-manage their condition and providing education to ensure patients have the knowledge and skill to optimise their health and potential.

Main duties of the job

What will the role involve?

  • Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of holistic care linked to packages of prescribed care 
  • The development of integrated care programmes in partnership with the patient
  •  To support in the supervision and development of all junior staff including Health Care Support Workers and Students
  • To actively work as a member of the multi-professional team to provide high quality care to patients
  • To undertake a range of competent clinical interventions to support the outcomes of both individual and group therapy
  • Manage a caseload of patients on a daily basis consisting of patients with complex needs associated within a specific speciality.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree/ diploma in Physiotherapy.Registered with the Health Professional Council.
Desirable criteria
  • Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Evidence of Continuing Professional development

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Broad clinical experience from training placements. Understanding of clinical governance and it’s implication. Awareness of recent government initiatives and their impact on practice

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Be prepared to develop knowledge in the field of cardiac rehabilitation. Awareness of professional issues and recent developments in the NHS Knowledge of up to date clinical practice

Skills and Abilities

Essential criteria
