Staff Nurse - Medical Wards
Band 5
New colleagues can look forward to a warm welcome here at Tameside & Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. Following our recent staff survey, our staff have confirmed that they look forward to going to work and they are enthusiastic about their jobs.
We scored higher than the average on these questions and are proud that our staff are happy to be part of #TeamTameside
We are an Acute and Community Trust based between the Pennines and Manchester City Centre. We employ almost 4,000 staff across Tameside & Glossop. We offer a competitive benefits package with regular pay awards, annual leave of 27 days increasing to 33 days after 10 years and access to a competitive Pension Scheme to which both you and the Trust contribute.
Alongside this there are extensive training development opportunities with paid mandatory training, a protected training budget for staff and support for flexible working. We have an on-site Occupational Health Service to support you at work and have fast track access to physio, counselling and complimentary therapies.
The Trust is committed to making a difference to the environment. Our "Save Planet Tameside & Glossop" strategy means that we work towards protecting our natural environment and "green" workplace practices at all times.
Staff Nurse - Medical Wards
Come and join our Staff Nurse team in one of our Medical Wards here at Tameside & Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. We have a number of amazing wards which are just waiting for you to join.
The Medical wards have close links with the patient experience team and actively engage with new ways of working to enhance the patient journey such as the introduction of pet therapy
Our specialties include dementia, stroke, diabetes, gastroenterology, Cardiology/Heart Care and general medical wards, which all have their own talented teams and they are looking for innovative nurses to join them in helping the community. This is a great opportunity to join our ever developing and progressing wards whilst we work on our journey from good to outstanding.
You will be given support to develop your leadership and management skills, and for further development opportunities for career progression. We have a dedicated Practice Based Educator to support with this, and a central fund just for staff training. For newly qualified nurses, you will be enrolled in a strong preceptorship programme devised by the Trust. As the Trust is on a continual journey towards improvement, you will also be involved in forward-thinking service developments with the team to enhance patient care and experience.
We understand that people have lives outside of work, and where possible (post probationary period) are keen to support different working patterns such as part time, set shifts (days/nights) or portfolio working.
