Specialist Physiotherapist - Stroke and Neuro - 6 months fixed term

This is an exciting opportunity to join our established multidisciplinary team. You will perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex conditions, to provide an accurate diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.

You will provide a high standard physiotherapy service to patients on the Stroke Unit, and ward based neurological patients.

 

Main duties of the job

Perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex conditions, to provide an accurate diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.

 To be responsible for your own caseload and a defined area of service, working without direct supervision.  Supervision takes the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review and case conferences.  Access to advice and support from a senior physiotherapist is available if required, clinical work is not routinely evaluated

To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.

Undertake evidence based audit and research projects to further own and teams clinical practice within each rotation.  Make recommendations to clinical team leaders for changes to practice.  May lead the implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to service guidelines.
