At Tameside Hospital, our Care of the Elderly wards are dedicated to providing compassionate, person-centred care to some of our most vulnerable patients. We’re looking for enthusiastic and empathetic Healthcare Assistants to join our multidisciplinary team and help us deliver outstanding care every day.

 What You’ll Do:

  • Provide hands-on personal care and emotional support to elderly patients, including those living with dementia
  • Assist with daily activities such as washing, dressing, eating, and mobility
  • Engage patients in meaningful conversation and activities to promote wellbeing

Important Notice on Visa Sponsorship Eligibility

Please note that whilst the trust does offer sponsorship this role is unfortunately not eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Health and Care Worker visa route. This is due to the position not meeting the minimum salary threshold of £25,000 per annum and/or the required skill level set by UK Visas and Immigration.

Main duties of the job

       Work within the ward/department setting, providing high quality, caring, compassionate and personal care to patients and their families/carers

       Work under the direction of the Registered Healthcare Professionals and senior colleagues, both independently and as part of the multi- disciplinary team.

       Under the direction of a Registered Health Care Professional ensure a high standard of service provision within ward/department, by practicing effective clinical and administrative preparation, effective communication and care delivery, prioritising workload appropriately and contributing to service improvements

       Participate in giving compassionate high quality personal care to patients prioritising appropriately and developing competencies that safeguard practice 

       Act always in a manner, which illustrates respect for privacy, dignity, equality, diversity, and confidentiality.
