Clinical Site Manager- Patient Flow and Site Management

Band 7 - 37.5 hours - Permanent

In conjunction with other members of the Operational and nursing teams the post holder will ensure the provision of effective site management, including direct responsibility for the management of the patient flow teams, with the expectation that further teams will be developed and fall under direct line management of the post holder. 

The post involves a combination of both operational and nursing management of all issues across the site, in addition to ensuring the effective delivery of the safer staffing model and supporting to facilitate patient flow throughout the clinical areas.

Main duties of the job

Job Summary

The site manager will promote the delivery of exceptional patient centred and safe care to all patients across the acute site. 

They will support the matron who will be responsible for the professional leadership demonstrating a supportive and flexible leadership approach as well as a proactive, responsible attitude so promoting confidence in the team and the service.

 They will be part of the senior nursing structure and contribute to the overall upholding of all safety standards, efficiency and productivity KPI’s and national AFPP standards.

 They will provide expert knowledge and leadership in the continuing progressive development of acute services, specifically capacity and site management, whilst ensuring the patient experience at the heart of all actions.

They will explore current practice, identifying areas for development and planning the appropriate change using the research and evidence base together with experience to evaluate outcomes.

They will support the matron who has responsibility for the quality of the patient’s journey in order to improve the patient’s experience.

They will coordinate practice for multiple clinical and operational areas and work clinically where required.

They will ensure a high standard of financially effective care delivery across defined clinical and operational areas.

They will maintain the focus of joined up working across all areas of TGICFT and act as a role model at all times, leading by example and empowering staff.

  • Registered Nurse relevant to speciality with current registration

  • Previous experience of flow within an Hospital Environment
  • Proven experience of participation in practice development
  • Proven experience of management/staff supervision including managing a team and change management experience
