Gweithio i'n sefydliad

The Directorate of Cardiology provides a comprehensive service for inpatients, elective care and outpatients.

Royal Blackburn Hospital is a modern PFI facility with all non-invasive cardiology services and with two dedicated cardiac catheter laboratories. We serve a population of 550,000 across East Lancashire covering both Burnley and Blackburn. Services from both towns were centralised on the Royal Blackburn site in November 2007, with only outpatient clinics continuing at Burnley General Hospital. Diagnostic angiography and pacing (including ICD and Biventricular Devices) is performed in our catheter laboratory, with cardiac surgery being performed at the Lancashire Cardiac Centre (LCC) in Blackpool. The second catheter lab and the new day case unit became operational in February 2010, with on-site PCI commencing on 24th February 2010. There has been a tremendous expansion and development of the cardiac services with improved access to revascularisation and better acute cardiac care.
