Job overview
The Trust implemented Oracle Health's Millennium ePR in June 2023, and as well as optimising this system, numerous digital medicines management and transfer of care developments are in the pipeline which has led to the need to expand the current pharmacist complement in the Clinical Informatics team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work lead the optimisation, and governance of electronic prescribing and medicines administration (ePMA) systems, ensuring safe, effective, and efficient use of medicines across the Trust. The role has significant impact on patient safety, clinical governance, and operational efficiency across the organisation, influencing prescribing practices and digital workflows at Trust and ICS level.
Working for our organisation
The ePMA function sits under Clinical Informatics, in the Data and Digital Division, whilst maintaining close professional links with the Pharmacy Directorate.
The post features an average of four days each week in Clinical Informatics with a blend of on site and home working, and the remainder in front line Pharmacy working.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Provide professional supervision and day‑to‑day guidance to Clinical Informatics staff.
Provide specialist input into design, configuration, and implementation under senior guidance of the ePMA and other related clinical systems.
Develop and implement IT solutions to improve medicines management, including configuration, testing, upgrades, and system administration.
Collaborate with informatics, clinical, and operational colleagues to drive change, optimise system use, and support business process redesign.

- Postgraduate clinical diploma or equivalent clinical experience
