Job overview

To provide a comprehensive appointment and 
reception service for Imaging examinations for all 
wards and departments at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, GP’s and all other users of the service. Ensure waiting list targets are met highlighting progress and any 
anticipated problems associated with meeting the 
targets.

Please note - the department runs the service from 7:30am to 8pm over 7 days so shifts will be between those times including long days (11.5 hours)

 

Main duties of the job

An opportunity has arisen for a suitable candidate to join our busy, demanding clerical team working in the Imaging Department.
You will be motivated, enthusiastic, with excellent communication skills and able to work effectively as part of a team.
The maintenance of patient confidentiality and excellent customer care skills are essential for this role.
You should have a proven record of working within a clerical environment, having undertaken first line administrative responsibilities. You should have excellent IT skills.   Previous NHS experience would  be useful but not essential. Training on specific hospital systems will be given.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Applications are invited for the post of Receptionist / Booking Clerk at Blackpool Teaching Hospital and community sites.

This post will involve working at multiple locations on the Fylde Coast with your main base at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, so you must be able to work flexibly in your location of work.

Please note that the Imaging Department operates an extended working day, 7:30am to 8.00pm Monday to Sunday.  Flexible hours of working will be expected across the working week as long shifts may be required. Enhancements are payable for unsocial hours.
