The Trust is part of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System (ICS) supporting a population of around 1.6 million people.

We have three main hospitals providing acute services to around 330,000 local residents. The organisation also provides specialist tertiary care for cardiac and haematology services, delivers community health services to over 445,000 residents including those in North Lancashire and hosts the National Artificial Eye Service across England. Plus, we provide urgent and emergency care services to an estimated 18 million people who visit the seaside resort each year. We employ over 7000 people from 68 different countries.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Ward Manager to join our Ward 6  at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals.   The successful candidate should be motivated and have the ability to inspire the staff and have previous experience and evidence implementing changes and embedding good practice.

It is essential that you can work as part of a multidisciplinary team demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to support the development of the service. The successful applicant needs to have excellent organisational and time management skills.  You will need to be a good communicator, be self-motivated, provide high standards of clinical skills and have the ability to influence and drive innovative practice within a fast growing and exciting department.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To provide clinical and managerial leadership to the ward team, ensuring that action is taken at all levels to empower the team in providing demonstrably high standards of care in a clean and safe environment.  The post holder will be ‘visible’ and recognisable to patients, relatives and staff and act as a ‘champion’ for quality and equality of standards and patient care within the Trust
