Ward Manager
C2 ward- Haematology
This is an opportunity to lead a team within complex care/haematology in the Medicine Division.
You will need strong clinical skills in the ability to care for the acutely unwell patient. You will have strong personal qualities of resilience, flexibility and adaptability.
Main duties of the job
The ward is critical to a number of Trust targets so the post will challenge your operational organisational skills. We are looking for individuals who display strong inspirational leadership skills.
The role will involve leading an established and successful team and there is a need to continue to develop the team.
We are therefore looking to recruit a motivated, hardworking nurse leader who has excellent communication skills and a passion for their role and improving patient care. When working clinically we expect you to perform with passion and drive, provide clinically excellent care, and be supportive to patients, relatives, and other MDT members. As a registered nurse you will be expected to promote and lead the delivery of an excellent standard of patient centred care in a supported environment.

Bolton NHS Foundation Trust is an integrated provider of acute, intermediate and community health care serving the population of Bolton. The Medicine Division is one of four Clinical Divisions in the Trust that includes Urgent Care, Complex Care and Specialist Medicine. The Division contains the busiest single site Emergency Department in Greater Manchester and has inpatient wards providing acute medicine, rehabilitation and specialist medicine services. It provides a range of specialist out-patient and community services and is committed to providing excellent clinical performance and patient care.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will be a Registered Nurse and will carry continuing responsibility for leading the nursing team on the ward and for the delivery of high standards of nursing and clinical care to patients.
They will be responsible for managing human resources, equipment and
stock within budget limits.
They will advise and support staff, demonstrate a high level of competence in the specialty, and be expected to broaden their remit, in line with current evidence base, knowledge and training.
They will make decisions based upon knowledge and experience in respect of patient care, and be accountable for those decisions.
They will ensure all staff managed, receive adequate supervision and training to enable them to become competent within the clinical area.
