An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Business Intelligence Department at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust for a Data Quality Co-ordinator.

We are looking to appoint an individual with a passion for data and someone who is willing to be part of a forward thinking team and will contribute to its ongoing success.

The post is commencing as a Band 2 Trainee Data Quality Co-ordinator and upon completing a progression framework progressing to a Band 3 Data Quality Co-ordinator.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, with good organisational skills and attention to detail. In addition, possess excellent
communication skills, both written and verbal, be familiar with Microsoft packages and be able to work on their own initiative. They should also
have a willingness to learn and have experience of working to deadlines in a fast- paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of RTT and Cancer patient pathways and national targets and be familiar with medical terminology.

 They will be expected to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the importance of Data Quality and have experience in working with NHS data.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To work as a member of the Data Quality Team within Business Intelligence ensuring that all patient data captured and recorded on Trust Information systems is accurate, timely and complete.  The post holder will assist and support the Business Intelligence Analysts in providing high quality  data management.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent (grade 4-9)

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous NHS experience
  • Understanding of Cancer and RTT targets and pathways including clinics and waiting list management
  • Experience of working in a team including clerical/office experience
  • Experience of prioritising workload
  • Knowledge of data protection Act/GDPR
  • Working knowledge of Patient Administration Systems including LE2.2 and Somerset Cancer Registry
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of secondary care within a hospital setting
  • Awareness of Electronic Referral Systems and Electronic Patient Records

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively by verbal and written means
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent computer skills including the ability to use MS Office packages including Excel, Word and Teams
  • Attention to detail
  • Deal confidently with clinicians, managers and colleagues
