An opportunity has arisen to join the Programme Management Office at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, where you will play a key role in supporting colleagues to transform and improve services.

We are interested in receiving applications from individuals with a passion for PMO working, in a complex and fast-paced healthcare provider environment.

If you are excited by the challenge of leading a PMO function, to deliver world class healthcare for patients, and support the organisation to meet its strategic objectives, we look forward to hearing from you.

Main duties of the job

As Head of PMO, you will be responsible for providing a PMO service through formal leadership of the PMO team, and maintaining relationships across both the host Service Transformation team and the wider organisation. You will be expected to deliver PMO's operational functions alongside development of the PMO in order to ensure that its offer meets the needs of its stakeholders. The role will oversee the effective co-ordination, governance and visibility of priority portfolios, notably to deliver against the Improvement  and Financial Sustainability agendas, and monitor interdependencies between these.

You will need a thorough understanding of programme and project management and be able to challenge robustly but with a flexible approach to delivery. Alongside this technical expertise, you will need excellent interpersonal skills, in order to deliver your agenda through collaboration with others. You will need a strategic mindset, while maintaining oversight of an operational team.

As a senior leader, you will have a high level of autonomy, self-drive, and will be able to manage multiple priorities and provide direction. You will need to demonstrate effective leadership skills, and have the resilience to deliver in a complex organisation. You will champion improvement and model the integrity, patient focused and value for money behaviours essential to deliver sustainable change.
