Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated, forward thinking Band 3 Healthcare Assistant. You will work on the Churchill Unit assisting with the clinics and patients receiving chemotherapy on the unit. The patients treated at the Churchill Unit are being treated as part of Christie closer to home.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as a member of the multidisciplinary team, supporting trained staff and providing fundamental, high quality care. Responsibilities includes clerical and administrative duties, assisting with the running of clinics, phlebotomy, clinical observations, stock maintenance, maintaining general cleanliness of the ward/department area and equipment and ensuring all care is correctly documented, such as patient observations and care interventions

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

·         To assist the patient with all aspects of personal hygiene as and when required.

·         To support the patient to have an experience which makes them feel safe, cared for and listened to during their hospital visit

·         Undertake clinical tasks, venepuncture, ECG, undertake clinical observations, taking specimens.
