Job overview

Bolton Foundation Trust are looking for a Highly Specialist Dietitian-Diabetes Lead for Paediatrics. The post sits within the Multidisciplinary Diabetes Team supporting Children and Young People with Diabetes. This is a 0.8WTE band 7 post covering 4 days a week.

Main duties of the job

The main duties are to be the Dietetic Clinical Lead for Diabetes, working at an Advanced level

You will need to be flexible in your working pattern to meet the needs of children and families seen in a variety of settings such as Royal Bolton Hospital, Outpatients, GP surgeries, Health Centres, Start Well Centres, Schools and patient homes. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is able to travel around these sites.

Essential

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working as a Specialist Paediatric Dietitian with children, young people and families in an acute or community setting.
  • Experience of Paediatric Diabetes management.
  • Able to travel around the area independently as per role requirement
Desirable criteria
  • Masters Module on Diabetes in the Young
  • Completion of Band 6 competency framework for Paediatric Dietitians working in Paediatric Diabetes (BDA)
  • Attendance at regional CYP Diabetes Network meetings and regional diabetes dietitians meetings

Communication and MDT working

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of experience in multi-disciplinary team working.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with individuals and groups
Desirable criteria
  • Member of BDA, including diabetes sub-group.
