Hospital Site Co-ordinator

Band 7

Our new Northern Care Alliance NHS Group unites five local hospitals to deliver high quality care across the North East of Greater Manchester.

The Alliance provides the benefits of scale but delivers this locally through multiple hospital sites which make up four new Care Organisations – Bury/Rochdale, North Manchester, Oldham and Salford. Using our mantra of ‘Saving lives, Improving lives’, the aim is for our Care Organisations to work closely with the communities they serve to deliver safe, high quality and reliable care, which are trusted, connected and pioneering.

Our Care Organisations are designed to operate within our group arrangement of hospitals, community and healthcare services which bring together over 19,000 staff and the services of The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust. Our size and geographical reach means we are creating an environment each individual will be inspired and empowered to be the best they can be.  This is a really exciting time to join our new team.

Four Care Organisations (Oldham, Bury/Rochdale, North Manchester and Salford) have been created who provide local leadership with the aim to build strong relationships with the local social care and health providers. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection in October/November 2017 found the Medical Service at Fairfield General Hospital has improved by two ratings to outstanding. This rates the medical services at Fairfield General Hospital to be one of the best in Greater Manchester and amongst the best in the country. As a site, Fairfield General Hospital is now rated as Good.

A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proactive ‘job role’ to join our busy and dynamic site team.

  • The post holder will be responsible for providing site co-ordination, managing and maintaining patient flow whilst supporting the delivery of key performance targets and addressing clinical site management issues throughout the organisation in hours.
  • The post holder will be expected to provide support and leadership in hours on site issues.
  • This is a crucial role in the organisation and requires the ability to work independently and pro-actively escalating concerns to the senior manager on site in accordance with local protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills are paramount to the success of this role as the post holder will play a key part in maintaining operational resilience and ensuring the patient experience is at the centre of all decision making.
  • The post holder will be responsible for the timely provision of information on capacity and flow of patients across the site, ensuring efficient utilization of clinical resources.
  • The post holder will work collaboratively with the bed management team, managing patient flow.

The successful candidates will work alongside the site team at Fairfield General Hospital in ensuring safe patient flow across the site. Currently there is significant work taking place on site which will transform the current model of patient flow on site and determine where it is based on site.

In line with the Trust’s Single Equality Scheme we welcome applications from everyone irrespective of ethnic origin, disability, age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, religion, marital status, social back ground or trade union membership. However, as members of ethnicity minority groups and individuals with disabilities are currently under-represented at this level of post, we would encourage applications from members of these groups.  Appointment will be based on merit alone.
