This exciting career opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Advanced Practitioner to become part of the Rheumatology team across the Northern Care Alliance.

You must have proven experience in your clinical specialty and be able to demonstrate the motivation required to take on an advanced practitioner role. You will be required to successfully complete the MSc Advanced Practice over two years at the University of Bolton which commences in March 2021. 

The programme will be aligned with a standardised and pre-agreed curriculum and is open to experienced health care practitioners who meet the following entry requirements:

Essential
• Registered with the NMC or HCPC
• A first degree. (Applicants with alternative qualifications and / or significant relevant experience will be considered, subject to approval through a process of Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) within Bolton University)
• Extensive post registration experience of which a minimum of five years is at a senior level.
• Evidence of extensive expert professional/clinical knowledge supplemented by specialist clinical training and continuing professional development.
• Evidence of people management and leadership skills.
• Evidence of involvement in delivering clinical governance objectives.

Desirable
• Non-medical prescriber

• Computer literacy

Upon completion of training, you will be qualified to apply for ACP opportunities across the Alliance working closely with the medical team and be a member of the medical rota working across the 24 / 7 time period. The advanced clinical practitioner will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing and managing patients and prescribing independently as an integral part of the Rheumatology team. You will also be involved in, and lead on education and audit/project work. The long term qualified ACP post will be for the northern care alliance with no guarantee of specific site at the end of training.

Interviews will take place in January 2021 and will be a joint interview with a University of Bolton representative on the interview panel
