Job overview

To provide clerical and administrative support to the team and clinicians team within Community division. The role requires competency in general administration, keyboard skills, good communication and an ability to work well within a team.  An ability to understand the need for and to maintain confidentiality is essential.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, hardworking and flexible individual to join the friendly team on Ribblesdale Ward

You must be an organised, conscientious, caring person with the ability to work on your own or as part of a team and be able to cope with a demanding workflow which at times can be challenging and working to tight deadlines.

There are two posts available:

  • 25 hours per week Mon - Fri
  • 15 hours per week Sat / Sun

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

 

  • Deal with queries from staff and answer phone queries from patients and various organisations 
  • Ensure all case notes are filed correctly.
  • Ensure notes are filed and tracked back in records room
  • Compile new patient records following departmental guidelines.
  • Update new patient record database ensuring records available for outpatient appointments, phone correspondence, etc.
  • Transferring and booking in patient records using relevant systems, ie: EPR.
  • Use of photocopier, fax and e mail when necessary.

Person specification

Essential and Desirable

Essential criteria
  • English Language and Maths GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in Administration or a Reception setting
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, inc Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • IT / Keyboard and typing Skills
Desirable criteria
  • Awareness of Health and Safety in an office environment
  • Able to work unsupervised for short to medium periods of time

Experience

Essential criteria
  • 6 months’ clerical experience
