Job overview
FIxed Term/Secondment - 6 Months - Full time 37.5 hours per week.
With the guidance and supervision from the Capacity Planning Co-ordinator, will lead and manage their teams effectively in line with Trust policy and protocols. Ensuring the teams are positively supported and guided through all aspects of their daily duties and conduct.
Is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the access and booking targets in relation to the whole patient journey for the designated specialties.
Will ensure a focus is maintained on customer care standards at all times and represents the service of Access, Booking and Choice in a professional manner.

Main duties of the job
Supporting the daily operational management of capacity and booking for Inpatients and Outpatients.
• Work flexibly to ensure all aspects of the services are supported in terms of staffing, ensuring staff are redeployed effectively to meet the service needs.
• Follow systems in place that assist the service user and the
staff to provide a safe and effective access and booking experience.
• Will have a clear understanding and working knowledge of all current
access targets.
• Meet frequently as required with the Capacity Planning Co-Ordinator to flag any issues relating to capacity and staffing.
• Actively seeking new ways of working that will assist staff to provide a
quality service at all times.
• Contributing to success against locally and nationally agreed targets, including waiting list management, validation and adherence to RTT timeframes
With supervision from the Capacity Planning Co-ordinator, will lead their teams in line with Trust policy and protocols. Ensuring the teams are positively supported and guided through all aspects of their daily duties.

Responds and actions any requests for information in the absence of their line manager.

Experience
Essential criteria
- Management /Supervisory experience.
- Skills in managing and prioritising own workload.
- Excellent keyboard skills with substantial experience of using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Clerical experience within an office environment.
Desirable criteria
- Working knowledge of LE2.2, ERS and other IT systems
- Understanding of RTT targets and pathways
- Knowledge of clinics and waiting lists
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- ECDL or equivalent knowledge
- GCSE English Grade C/4
- Good General Standard of Education
Desirable criteria
- Team leading /ILM qualification
- Educated to A level / HNC / NVQ or equivalent
Skills
Essential criteria
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively by verbal and written means
- Ability to use MS office packages including Word, Excel and teams
- Ability to work under pressure
- Deal confidently with clinicians, managers and colleagues
Desirable criteria
- keen to learn new skills
- Competent and confident to work autonomously and under supervision
