Job overview
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic person to support the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team. This post is based at Harvey House in Lancaster.
This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join a community based children’s mental health service and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. This team includes psychological therapists, nurses and psychiatrists.
The post holder must be able to provide efficient administrative support and have excellent IT, keyboard and data inputting skills. You will also require strong interpersonal skills, be able to demonstrate initiative and the ability to organise your workload effectively.
The work is varied, interesting and demanding and candidates need to be organised, flexible and reliable. We are looking for people who possess the ability to meet the demands of the service, and also to be able to communicate with a wide range of people, including patients, carers and health care professionals.
The post is 37.5 hours per week and is a permanent post within the team, 9am-5pm

Main duties of the job
• Receiving, allocating and despatching internal /external mail in line with the Trust policy.
• Acting as the first point of contact for the unit/department providing a comprehensive customer service and enquiry provision to internal and external customers of the Trust.
• Providing a comprehensive administrative service which will include minute taking, cover compilation of reports and other correspondence on behalf of the team manager and other members of the team, ensuring a high standard in accordance with Trust standards.
• Creating and maintaining effective working relationships with staff at all levels, internal and external across the whole health economy.
• Working collaboratively with the appropriate management teams and other departments including clinicians to ensure that the appropriate leads are notified in the case of matters of urgency and dealt with in a timely manner.
• Attend and participate in team meeting and admin services meetings as required
• Day to Day management of waiting list and booking of appointments.

- NVQ Level 3 in Customer Care or Business Administration – or equivalent experience

- Knowledge of a range of administrative procedures and practice.

- Previous experience as a Secretary/Administrator including diary management
- Previous experience of working in a fast moving, confidential, sensitive, pressurised deadline driven environment.
- Experience of supporting and minuting meetings.
