Job overview

We’re looking for a creative all-rounder with a passion for social media, design, and storytelling, someone who can help us take our design and digital presence to the next level. You’ll create and deliver content which connects with communities, local people, partners and colleagues across Lancashire and South Cumbria in fresh, exciting ways.


As the leading voice for mental health, learning disability and autism services in the region, the content you create for the Trust social media channels will be factual, inclusive and impactful.

Main duties of the job

When you’re not out and about in services or our local communities, you will be using Adobe software to its full potential, designing and editing incredible content for a variety of media.

What skills are we looking for?

  • Social media expert – you know what works, where and for who. You keep on top of trends and can’t wait to get stuck in
  • Fluent in Adobe software – a confident and capable designer, you can take complex information and turn it into striking visual content adapting for multiple audiences.
  • Great with a camera – whether it’s a phone or DSLR you know how to get the best shots for photography and video.
  • Curious and proactive – you’ll bring a wealth of ideas to the table, exploring different ways to engage our audience on social media and spot opportunities to increase our impact and reach.
  • A natural storyteller – finding the heart in every story we tell, you’re comfortable working with people from a diverse range of backgrounds, bringing their story to life.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree level qualification or equivalent in: public relations/journalism/digital/communications/marketing/social media marketing/content creation/design

Knoweldge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working as a communications officer, digital or e-communications officer, content creator, social media officer or similar with a track record of success and demonstrable knowledge in the field
  • Recent and relevant knowledge of the social media market, trends, developments, new media and specific target audiences for each platform
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant software packages including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) and Canva
  • Substantial experience of working in a high pressure communications or public relations team
  • Experience of updating and developing internet and intranet sites using content management systems
  • Demonstrable video production and photography experience
  • Excellent experience of working with Microsoft office applications as well as other relevant video editing, photography, design and content editing software.
