Applications are invited for a Junior Clinical Fellow in Plastic Surgery, based at Royal Preston Hospital initially for a 12 month period
Although this post is not recognised for training purposes, considerable “hands on” training is given in line with skills and experience.

Main duties of the job
This post will provide Plastic Surgery experience in a major trauma centre and would be suitable for a person wishing to obtain CT / ST1/2 level experience, or ST3. This post would be suitable for a pre ST3 post experience.
- Admission of new patients, including clerking.
- You will be expected to be on the ward during the normal working day except for natural breaks and when clinical duties elsewhere so demand and participate in daily ward rounds in adult and children's ward.
- Day to day care of patients.
- Provide cross-cover for other colleagues as required of the working
- Attendance in operating theatres
- Attendance in outpatients' clinics (depending on Consultant attachment)

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust forms one of the major acute Trusts in the North West with all of the usual specialities on site as well as being a Tertiary Centre for Lancashire and South Cumbria in the departments of Neurosciences, Oncology, Plastic Surgery and Burns and Renal Medicine.

- MBBS or equivalent

- MRCS or equivalent

- Basic Surgery training or equivalent
- Completion of Foundation years training
- UK Experience in Plastic Surgery

- Plastic Surgery experience
- Evidence of involvement in audit

- Proven effective communication skills (with examples).

- Works well within a multidisciplinary environment.
